Class hurling video from Bord Gáis promoting their sponsorship of the under 21 hurling championships. You can become part of their next video by uploading your video to Youtube and sending it on to them or by uploading your video directly on their site www.breakingthrough.ie.

Some interesting videos up there already none more so than the great Marty Morrissey showing his silky hurling skills. Others interesting videos uploaded so far include Charlie Redmond, Ronaldo, some hot chicks and some handy hurlers.

Two of the shining lights of the Irish music scene in the form of Super Extra Bonus Party and Heathers team up on the single called Comets which is featured in SEBP’s second album Night Horses (May 2009).

SEBP’s second album Night Horses also features collaborations with Cadence Weapon, Mr. Lif, May Kay of Fight Like Apes, R.S.A.G, Captain Moonlight, Ann Scott and White Noise amongst others.

Seems Toyota are really jumping in to this social media thing with both feet while also pushing the boat out with some funky digital innovation. I love this iQ font idea, its execution is simple yet brilliant and the fact that there’s a tangible product at the end that everyone can download and use makes it even more appealing. The site even has a further feature where you can design a t-shirt using the iQ font and be in with a chance of wining concert tickets, provided your design stands out in the gallery that is.



Not forgetting Toyota Ireland who are now tweeting and who recently gave Irish bloggers a chance to test drive the Toyota iQ for 6 months on condition that they tweet/blog their experiences. The closing date for applications has now passed but be sure that Achgohairithe’s application was such that it cant be ignored so expect my tweets to become much more motoring related in the near future!!

What at first looked like a progressive step by Airtricity in engaging with the online community on this issue seems to have been no more than a cursory attempt to quell any chitchat among the blogging community in relation to the data breach. Funny that the engagement only came after the SBP ran the story.

Anyway, it looks Peter Lord or at least his IP has become a regular AGH reader so here are a few new facts you can add to your list. AGH is now on page one, position ten in the organic Google search results for the key word ‘Airtricity’ and the the Airtricity Letter has been downloaded times from AGH.

Rebels are being asked to assemble at Emmet Place, outside Cork Opera House before 3pm after which a march will take place in the city centre.

The march is being organised by well known Cork supporter Tom ‘Bomber’ Roche, who organised last year’s successful marches, and PeoplesRepublicOfCork.com

Fans are asked to bring as much colour as possible and to spread the word to as many Corkonians as possible.

Just hours after the hurlers’ press conference and statement, a 96FM poll has showed overwhelming support for the hurlers with 2,909 texts in favour of the players and 309 against.

I’ve been blogging since 2005 and AGH has been up and running since 2006. We’ve sailed close to the wind on a number of occasions but this goes beyond all that… ive done nothing wrong and i stand by my post. I actually held back on information truth be known…

I’m amazed that this hasn’t been picked up in the media yet, but this came through the door of a relation last week and to say she was shocked and worried is an understatement. I mean it looks like her personal data, including bank details may have been left in an unsecured location for God knows how long!!

The letter states that while they were working on their website a “file” containing personal details was inadvertently left in an unsecure location. They go on to say that while the file was not visible on the face of the website they cant guarantee 100% that the file wasn’t accessed by an unauthorised 3rd party.

While the letter itself is very apologetic and and goes to great pains to try and reassure the recipient that this breach has been investigated thoroughly and that measures are now in place to ensure the situation can not be repeated, it doesn’t state when this breach happened and how long the data was exposed to the world.

The fraud protection cover they offer by way of apology is akin to padlocking the stable door after the horse has bolted.

I’m going to look into this for her and my first port of call will be the data protection commissioner. Come to think of it im not sure what good contacting the DPC will do, given the fact that they had their own leak recently any action they take against Airtricity might smack of hypocrisy!

An Céad Dáil Éireann - the First Dáil Éireann, 90 years ago tomorrow the 21st of January

Lot’s going on and lots of talk debate around the 90th anniversary of the First Dáil. RTE radio have a series of programmes commemorating the anniversary with one in particular How Macroom Remembers aired yesterday being of particular interest to myself.

The 21st January marks the 90th anniversary of the first Dáil in Ireland. RTÉ Radio 1’s Documentary on One has made a documentary that looks at how the tumultuous events of 1919 to 1923 are remembered in Macroom and its hinterland.

Thomas Davis Lectures – Creating The Dáil

To commemorate the 90th anniversary of the First Dáil we are re-broadcasting a ten part Thomas Davis Lecture series entitled Creating the Dáil first broadcast in 1994.

The boys over at éirígí staged a high profile PR stunt much to the embarrassment of the blue heelers.

éirígí activists today (Tuesday) breached tight security at Dublin’s historic Mansion House to deliver a message directly to the Twenty-Six County political establishment.

As hundreds of elected representatives and other dignitaries gathered inside the building, two activists succeeded in unfurling a giant banner from the roof.

As the out-manoeuvred Gardaí scrambled into action, the banner’s message hung from the roof of the Mansion House for all to see – “90 YEARS ON – NO CLOSER TO FREEDOM – END THE OCCUPATION!â€? [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQZ6xAP1uBE[/youtube]
