What a Beautiful Life

Gui Boratto

Queue the song of summer ‘07 from Gui Boratto : Beautiful Life.

It might be an old track but hell i don’t care its new to me and its pure quality.

From The Cool Hunter:

Gui Boratto is a Brazilian architect/musician/composer/producer and his new album ‘Chromophobia’ will likely be the first you’ve heard of Brazilian electronic music. In short, it’s bliss.

‘Beautiful Life’ is the album’s clear standout, the kind of song that’s as much pure pop as it is electronic. As the female vocal repeats, ‘What a beautiful life, what a beautiful life’, Boratto brings a heartbeat to the often metronomic precision of synthesizers, lifting them up euphorically as the song builds in pulsing, melodic waves. Running at over eight minutes, you might imagine things dragging on too long. But as the beat whirrs to a close, you’ll be reaching for the repeat button, wishing that the ‘Beautiful Life’ would never end.

Family of faggot fans fly the flag!

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007

Me thinks someone over at the BBC is pulling the piss!

A West Midlands family is playing a central role in the quest to raise the profile of a forgotten British dish – faggots.

The Doody family from Wolverhampton has been crowned The Faggot Family in a national competition, and to kick off their reign they will launch National Faggot Week.

…Her husband Fred added: “It’s unfair because faggots were a British delicacy long before any of the others.

…”The great British faggot is full of flavour and a great belly warmer at this time of year.”

…The competition was organised by faggot producer Mr Brain’s Faggots.

I especially like the ‘Faggot Facts’!

Faggots were called “savoury ducks” in the Middle Ages
Faggots were named after the Latin word for bundle
Faggots were originally made with pig’s liver and offal
Faggots are now made from pork liver and pork
Fans have published the Good Faggot Guide

How Gay Can You Go?

Thursday, April 19th, 2007

How Gay Can You Go?

Tonight saw RTE broadcast the last episode in the current series of How Gay Can You Go, otherwise know as How Low Can You Go. What started off as a show following four young men trapeze their way across Australia on a shoestring budget, quickly developed into a beautiful coming of age story where three young men grew up to be confident flamboyant women.

For the love of God lads… my advice would be to look back over the series again and try to pinpoint exactly when and where the change took place, then go back there and pray you find your balls before a dingo does.

You can now write your blog as Gaeilge

Thursday, April 12th, 2007

Where we have long been able to browse as Gaeilge and even XP as Gaeilge, as far as I know or chomh fada agus is eol dom we haven’t really been able to blog as Gaeilge…until now. Enter Nireblog.

Nireblog is a new free, multi language, easy-to-use blogging platform. They launched with Spanish and Basque but now offer up to 40 different language options, including Irish!

Nireblog is provided using already qualified text chains in systems like Wordpress, Drupal, B2 Evolution, etc and is relying on collaboration from people like YOU to help them complete translating each section. I guess the one we should concern ourselves with is Irish and if you want to help translate this into a fully fledged working platform why not pop over and help them finish off the remaining 55% of translations in the Irish section.

Thanks to Rhys for the heads up on this.
